Initially had a problem with a bent S-Video Cable that would only allow black & white play back. Works just the way it's suppose to. Plays videos and audio files w/o any problems. Replaced with new cable and now everything works the way it's suppose to. Great way of listening to IPOD via DENON entertainment center.
I have a new Denon AVR-790 receiver (which is fairly upscale) and I have a new iPod Classic 160GB. It is the first Denon product to disappoint me (although the issues are probably explained by incompatibility with this particular model iPod). That's it.
I can't pull anything up on my Sony XBR LCD TV screen and the dock does not support the shuffle function. Don't expect much. The ASD-11R provides very few features for the Classic.
Not nearly what I expected from this product. I am left with the consolation that at least the dock re-charges the iPod and will play music through my sound system. I can use my receiver remote for very basic functions.
I spent four hours trying to get this thing to integrate with my TV, to no avail. I may return it.
This unit is very difficult. I have to spend several minutes trying to get my Ipod to set correctly in it. I don't think it shows up on tv screen; at least I can't get it to work.
I have two Denon AV Receivers, and the ASD-11R works great with both. The ease of use is great, as is the sound quality. However, I did try it with a non-Denon receiver and didn't have much luck. If you are purchasing this as an accessory to a Denon system, I think you will be very happy with it. If you want to connect it to another brand (particularly older components), you should research the compatibility first.I wouldn't be without mine. I love it.
Yes all of your playlists are there, and this would not be an issue with a solid state iPod (although some of those are getting pretty big now) finding a song or sometime even artist on an 80g iPod can be more trouble than it is worth. I really wanted a way to seamlessly intergrate my video iPod into my HT system, which includes a Denon 3808. Start a playlist and let it go, works fine.but with 400+CD's and who knows how many single tracks on top of that finding what you want is still a chore. The other issue is with video playback.as others may have mentioned you must hold a button on the remote to change the "mode" of the iPod on the 3808. While this product works, and allows iPod control from the 3808 via front panel or remote, I was expecting too much.iTunes and the actual operating system of the iPod have spoiled me for finding THE song I am looking for right then. The Denon setup totally by-passes those two systems and does it's own thing. THEN you have to go to the iPod, and start video playback. Yes, once you do that, you can navigate the videos in THAT playlist, but you can't navigate out of that.
